Hi, all!
In this hullabaloo about Amazon, I thought I'd point out a couple facts about Borders.
Borders has achieved yet another 100% score from HRC (the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.) They offer same-sex benefits to all employees who have insurance in all areas: medical, optical, dental and life insurance. They have several action committees in the home office, including an GLBT group, a GLBT book club, and diversity training.

In this economy, your dollars count extra. Please consider spending some of those dollars at your local Borders store, or at Borders online.
I know one slasher who will really appreciate it. :)

10:27 pm - I put my money where my mouth was...
I donated to the campaign every paycheck. I volunteered: made calls, sent e-mails, and at the last minute, drove people to the polls. (I thought I was going to do a whole bunch of that today, but I wasn't needed in the early part of the day.)
Now, I just heard Ohio turned blue, and I can't believe it. There are no words for how excited I am.
Change is here. Doesn't it feel good?

In my typical manner, I had to watch Doctor Who twice before I could decide whether I liked it or not.

10:16 pm - Terminus and other conventions
I know we're all gearing up for a great convention season! In order to make the Snarry meetups easy, I've done two things: set up a grouping of forums on WTP to help with meetups, and done an IJ community called Snarry_Terminus.

I don't have time to pimp, so here's hoping someone will see them. :) Otherwise, I'll pimp another day!

08:39 pm - New Year's Resolutions
This year, I solemnly vow...
To read my flist at least 3 days a week.
To do something with my fandom every day for fun, whether it is reading the Snarry Reader and following links, or reading a story.
To keep my house as clean as it is right now.
I would like to lose weight, so I'm going to try and fit some yoga/walking in here for greater flexibility, and to eat better, but I'm not going to do Weight Watchers or anything. I know how to be healthy; I just don't do it, cuz I like stuff that's bad for me.
This year is not going to be about guilt, though. It's going to be about being a person I like, and allowing myself to do things that make me happier, more satisfied, and better rounded. I don't want to feel like I'm failing at any point; just to be happy when I succeed.
Hope your New Year is guilt free, as well!

10:33 am - Because I can't resist a BOOK meme, and vacation!
I will be traveling to Europe starting November 2nd, and will wrap up my trip November 16th. If any of you love art museums, cafes, and slasher company, let's connect! My itinerary (I think) is as follows:
London: Nov. 3rd and 4th
Paris: November 5th - November 10th
Florence: November 11th - November 12th
Rome: November 13th - November 15th
We fly out in the wee hours of the 16th from Rome, and have a 2 hour layover in Amsterdam at 8:35 a.m. before departing for Detroit.
I am traveling with my sister, who loves femmeslash, and would appreciate any recommendations. :)

While the debate rages on, it looks like the Games are here. Therefore, I will be too.
Now, to teach my Luddite soul things like feeds, etc. It seems like a lot of people are drawn to JournalFen, and I'm going to try to get an account there, as well. Let's see how we all avoid crossposting like whoa.
